Hey everyone, if you are from an Indian State in which snowfall never occurs, and you would like to see it live, plan a trip to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple! The snowfall at Vaishno Devi bhawan usually begins in second week of December and, as I write this blog post, it may occur at any moment.
I am the kind of person who loves mountains and fresh snow! I wait for this time of the year all the time. So, as and when the snowfall begins at Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, I will make sure to be the first one to record it live on my camera. So, all of you can also witness this natural phenomena.
Why should you prefer witnessing snowfall at Vaishno Devi Temple?
As compared to other locations in India where snowfall occurs, Vaishno Devi temple is easy to reach. Any mode of commute can take you there. If you are from New Delhi, the total travelling time could range from 12 to 15 hrs. If you take a flight, the total time it will take for you to reach at Jammu Airport would take around 2 hours.
From Jammu, you can hire a taxi to reach Katra, it will take around 1 hour. From there, you can commence your Journey to reach Vaishno Devi Temple either by foot, paalki or on horse.
If you are a Hindu, plan a trip to Vaishno Devi during December to February. This will serve two purposes. One, you will pay homage to Goddess Durga and, Secondly you will have chances to witness snowfall.
Other places such as Shimla, Dalhousie, Mcleodganj, Manali, Ladakh, Srinagar also receive snowfall. But, I would recommend that you go to Vaishno Devi Mandir to witness it.
Rest, the choice is yours.
In my upcoming post, I will be sharing the perfect stays in other parts of India to witness snowfall. Those places have been personally frequented by me on many occasions.
